Schneider Electric expands Uniflair cooling portfolio

Free cooling architecture delivers 25% more efficiency than comparable systems, lowering total cost of ownership.

Schneider Electric has expanded its EcoStruxure Ready, Uniflair Chiller and Room cooling portfolio. The new Uniflair Extra Large Chiller leverages free-cooling to maximise system efficiency while the Uniflair Extra Large Room Cooling solution utilises extended water and air operating ranges to maximise cooling capacity. Combined they offer an industry-leading free cool operating mode at the highest ambient temperature resulting in 25 percent more efficiency than that of comparable data centre cooling systems on the market today.

EcoStruxure Ready and designed to work together as a system, the Uniflair Chiller and Room cooling solution delivers industry-leading PUE, low operating costs while maximising water and energy efficiency making it an ideal solution for large and hyperscale data centre environments.Being EcoStruxure Ready enables remote monitoring and management anytime and anywhere.

Business, environmental and growth sustainability optimised through one solution

“When designing large data centres for cloud and service providers, consultants and customers look for a comprehensive system that can efficiently provide continuous cooling operations during any time of year or under any condition while minimising the system capital expenses” said Benjamin Smith, vice president of Cooling, Schneider Electric. “This new Uniflair cooling solution combines both adiabatic free-cooling chillers and room cooling to get both by utilising a modular, flexible and efficient cooling technology.”

Features and benefits include:

·High system efficiency: Total free-cooling is achieved at higher ambient temperatures and seasonal efficiency is improved with its advanced adiabatic system with water recirculation capabilities. In addition, the system is capable of three operating modes – total free-cooling, mixed and total mechanical, all available with or without adiabatic cooling – to provide the best efficiency values for every condition.

·Smaller, more flexible footprint: Air conditioning units provide 25 percent more capacity in the same occupancy, helping customers to optimise white space. Additionally, reduced compressor usage translates into smaller compressor sizing, minimising impact on electrical infrastructure.

·Adaptable design and scalability: The cooling system is modularly designed to enable speedy deployment, as well as easy growth and configuration to match current and future business needs.
